mother of many September 6, 2008 I bought this game for my 1o year old son. He loves it and plays it all the time. I have other children and they all ask for a turn. Their ages age 10-15 and they all play it is nice to see this. Also, I love to hear them say "rock"
For my 9-year old this is heaven! September 1, 2008 Bought this game for my 9-year old son who is a BIG fan of Guitar Hero! He thinks this game is fantastic!! I've tried but my fingers won't cooperate...The big guitar is more fun, but this is a very good substitute...and you can litterally go ON TOUR!! If you like Guitar Hero this is a must have!!
Great game...not for young kids August 31, 2008 I bought this for my 7 year old because he loves his Nintendo DS but he also loves to play Guitar Hero on the PS2. This game is fun but it is very hard for him (with his small hands)to play it. I was a little disappointed but I'm sure he will grow into it. Overall, the game is worth the $.
In Jackson's words August 25, 2008 This game was bought with a gift certificate by my 9 year old son, Jackson. He hasn't put it down since it arrived. He doesn't have one single complaint about it. It's challenging and exciting. It's gotten him thinking about music and learning songs that I grew up with. All his friends want it too!
Excellent handheld option for GH buffs! August 18, 2008 Okay, so it's not EXACTLY like playing a guitar (not that regular GH is...) but it's a pretty neat translation for the DS system. Some good songs, but mostly one's I'd never heard of.
PROS: -Decent number of songs -Awesome dueling mode that keeps things interesting -Pretty good graphics for a DS game -Great hand exercise!
CONS: -Not good for younger players with little hands. I've got small hands, and I have to tighten the strap a lot and stretch my hand -Not the same "I can play guitar!" feel
Overall, worth the investment. I hear there's a sequel in the works to be sold sans controller, so it won't be as expensive.
