5 out of 5 stars Great game for the price!   May 30, 2008
This game takes a while to get started up and it lacks a few features that the other phantasy star games had but all in all for the price its a great title, playing as the main character Ethan Waber and seeing the story unfold is very cool! It reminded me alot of a anime with the chapters in the game so its like your playing a anime tv show which is kinda weird at first...but its fun! I paid about 20 bucks for it off of here and I was very satisifed with all its features its a fun game anyone can play if your style action/adventure/rpg. It even has online mode if your into online with your friends

2 out of 5 stars ... well   December 23, 2007

Phantasy star universe is truly a amazing universe but there are some MAJOR flaws in this game. One of these that is truly annoying is that there are chapters in this game. What i mean by chapters is that at the end of a level it ends like a cartoon show and gives you a preview of the next one. Also the single most horrible flaw with this game is that you HAVE TO PAY FOR ONLINE!!!!!! If you have this for the xbox 360 you already pay for your online capabilities but these guys want you to pay more and its ALOT more. Its 10 dollars more to get on and get insulted constantly by a bunch of nerds! If you want to play online in this game get the demo for it because it is free. If this game didn't have horrible voice acting, chapter endings and previews, loading screens that constantly pop up, and a online fee it could have been a great game. I would recomend renting it for a weekend to get the achievements from it which are WAY too easy and then returning it and forgetting you ever played it.

5 out of 5 stars COMPLETELY ADDICTING!   July 21, 2007

Okay so the storyline is so and so. Not a bad one but at points sort of corny but I overall enjoyed it. Was too short. But here is the good part. Online is completely amazing you WILL BE ADDICTED. My fiance plays and so do I and we never quit. We fight over it! The story line continues in oline mode. With new charactors and such. Online there are thousands of poeple you meet, so many new missions to do, it's just so fun. They update everyweek. New levels. Such as it used to be level 80 was the highest. Now they updated it to 90. SWEET!
A new expansion pack comes out for your rooms. So they are more whats the world??? kewler?? haha.
You can have pools, fans, all kinds of nick nacks. New weapons. The prices are a big ubsured. BUT it makes it for longer gameplay. I love it. It's completely addicting. ^_^

4 out of 5 stars PSU is a very fun online rpg   June 10, 2007
If you played the demo version, then the full version has unlimited aspects. With the recent updates like Operation Firebreak, there's no regret purchasing this game even if it's not a mmorpg. PSU is alot of fun, although the graphics are mediocre as the gameplay makes it up to it's flaws. There is also a continuation of the story mode only avalible online.

3 out of 5 stars Tedious at best   March 28, 2007

Tedious is about all this is. Imagine a hack'n'slash and add a futureistic Star Wars look-a-like story and you got Phantasy Star in a nutshell. I have owned this game since November. I feel so guilty it sits there and sits there just taking up space. I pick it up now and than to play it, [...] you know what? The tediousness just gets worse. First chapter, you have to run around a subway station, see a cinematic and then hack some penguin wannabes. Then there is the long and boring task of putting on these goggles to see weak spots in rubble, than taking them off hacking. Move to the next rubble thing and do it again. Chapter three you have to use the goggles again, then you have to use a laser thing to kill these plant spores, then you pull out a sword and slice'n'dice a plant into chewable pieces. Chapter three is the farthest I have gotten so far.

As for online, it is annoying! Most people don't speak English on there. You also have to type to people to talk, and the vast majority don't know that once you join a party you can talk, so they just type in the party, annoying as hell! Plus you have to pay 10 dollars for it.
